HEITORZINHO DOS PRAZERES (Rio de Janeiro, December 7, 1942)

            He inherited the name, talent for samba and the painting of one of the most emblematic characters of Brazilian popular culture: Heitor dos Prazeres. As a child, the taste for percussion instruments and the ability to girdle soon led him to join the group organized by his father for his performances.

In 1958, as a vocalist and percussionist he participated in the LP Macumbas & Candomblés: Heitor dos Prazeres e su Gente (RGE label). In the 60's, his first recorded compositions appeared: the rock Yê Yê Yê E Candomblé (with Heitor dos Prazeres) and the Samba Se Se Pecado (with Smoke) samba. In 1987, he participated in the LP Lindo Lindo Lindo (selo Copacabana), by Waldir da Fonseca from São Paulo, playing the samba Negro (Fumaça partnership, Waldir da Fonseca) and the inclusion of Morena Manera (co-author of Waldir da Fonseca) , In the voice of Filó Machado. Extending the instrumental range, with the guitar and piano, it began to perform in clubs and night clubs.

In 1997, Heitorzinho dos Prazeres released, in independent production, the admirable CD Quem Somos Nós, in 17 irredevable bands, with historical participation of Tônia Carrero in the samba-choro Carioca Boêmio (by Heitor dos Prazeres), Áurea Martins in Consideration (Hector dos Prazeres, Cartola), Waldir da Fonseca in Two A Two (coauthoring the participant), solo by Luis Filipe Lima in the chorinho autor Isquisito, Darcy da Mangueira interpreting his samba Poeta Em Verde E Rosa, besides Heitorzinho with Pery Ribeiro in the classic A In Mangueira (Heitor dos Prazeres, Herivelto Martins), thanking the father who composed the samba choro "The Thing Improved" when he was born, and closing the album with Nadinho da Ilha and Darcy da Mangueira in the anthological "Pierrô Apaixonado" (Heitor dos Prazeres, Noel Pink). In 2003, the important book Heitor dos Prazeres was published: his art and his time, which celebrates the multifaceted composer written by the journalist and musician Alba Lírio, based on a thorough search of Heitorzinho dos Prazeres, accompanied by a CD with fifteen interesting recordings of his work (Cristina Buarque), Casinha in Bento Ribeiro (Moreira da Silva), Woman of Malandro (Vó Maria). The third generation of the family, her children Duda and Ricardo (Percussion and voice) and Flávio Prazeres (sax, flute and percussion) have been accompanying Heitorzinho in his fun and creative shows, parading various rhythms such as chorinhos, sambas, baiões, marches and songs.

In painting, the samba shows the same passion as the father, presenting in strong colors, suburban scenes and their festivities, bars and streets, which earned the master Di Cavalcanti, the following comment: I consider the painting and music of Heitorzinho Of Pleasures for simplicity and lyricism the best way of Brazilian popular art.
