Partial Introduction - Part III

            In Part III, the interpreters, the first mentioned is Domingos Caldas Barbosa (poet, violinist and singer), a mulatto born in Rio de Janeiro around 1740 who, at the court of Dona Maria I in Lisbon, introduced the modinha, Considered the first genre of Brazilian popular song, becoming our first promoter.

Already in the second half, the cry and its pioneers appear: Anacleto de Medeiros (Island of Paquetá, 7/13/1866 - 08/14/1907): composer, multi-instrumentalist of blows; Francisca Edwiges Neves Gonzaga (Rio de Janeiro, 17/10/1847 - 28/2/1935): consecrated as Chiquinha Gonzaga, teacher, pianist, teacher, composer, with strong political convictions, bold and transgressive for the customs of her time; Ernesto Nazareth (Rio de Janeiro, 3/18/1863 - 4/2/1934): Excellent and versatile pianist, owner of accurate technique and very personal language repertoire, including notable pieces of tangos, waltzes, choros, polcas, maxixes, Besides classic works; Joaquim Antônio da Silva Callado (Rio de Janeiro, July 11, 1848 - 20/18/1880): Master of the flute, he inserted his instrument on the wheels of choro, formed of cavaquinho and two guitars.
